Запрестольный образ для Собора всех учебных заведений во имя Воскресения Христа Спасителя (Смольного собора) в Петербурге. Смольный Воскресенский монастырь был основан императрицей Елизаветой Петровной в 1744, в 1768 упразднен, и все здания переданы Смольному институту. Собор, построенный в середине XVIII века Ф.-Б. Растрелли, в своей внутренней отделке был завершен лишь в 1830-е годы и освящен в 1835. (Е. Столбова)

The altarpiece for the Cathedral of all educational institutions in the name of the Resurrection of Christ the Savior (Smolny Cathedral) in St. Petersburg. Smolny Resurrection Monastery was founded by Empress Elizabeth Petrovna in 1744, in 1768 it was abolished, and all the buildings were transferred to the Smolny Institute. The cathedral, built in the middle of the XVIII century by F.-B. Rastrelli, in its interior decoration was completed only in the 1830s and consecrated in 1835. (E. Stolbova)
